Vorsteiner e92 M3

Submitted by b5boy on February 8, 2010 – 8:20 am2 Comments

So last week my friends and I went out to his house in Bellflower to get lunch and then further to Ontario for my other friend to pick up his radio… The day after, we went up to Pinks and Fairfax as well.  Along the way, I took a few random snaps of random things.

What do you do when you have something but are not satisfied with it?  You usually get a new something, but what if you aren’t satisfied with it but still love to drive it?  You modify it!   Thats what Vorsteiner is here for if you have a Porsche, Benz, Bentley, or Beamer.  Not too long ago, my friend just so happened to buy an e92 M3 and just like the above, he wasn’t fully satisfied with what he had, hence from the above, he consulted his friend who then directed him in the direction Vorsteiner to customize his car.

After him and his friend had a chat with Vorsteiner, they had a good idea of where they wanted to go with the car, and Vorsteiner agreed giving them a partial sponsorship.   Aside from Vorsteiner, they also had Ericsson by PowerHouse Amuse in mind, but it was just a tad bit too much for the budget.  Soon enough, and as SEMA was coming up around the corner, some other companies like the direction he was taking for his car and also jumped on the band wagon.

For anyone who knows what SEMA is, knows how great of a show it is. In the most recent one, SEMA featured a car gallery featuring rides from MFEST and it just so happened his car was one of them.  By the time the show came around, he had been sponsored by Falken Tire and Venaci Wheels as well.

Fast forward back to yesterday where I was chillin’ with him taking a few quick snaps of his car before heading off to the shop, his car now sits of Venanci Spirits rather than Meshs which he was rocking at SEMA.  He also deleted the black sponsorship stripe on the right side as well as the Falken windshield banner.  His car also sports a 2″ drop kit, a TechnoCraft Carbon Kevlar air intake, and a Gitani exhaust.

He also color matched his carbon fiber hood to keep his car nice and subtle.  Being just another BMW to the untrained eye, and a whole something else to everyone who pays attention to detail.

The MFEST sticker on his windshield is another interesting touch.  If you are into the BMW M series and are aware of MFEST, you’ll know that many passionate members run their MFEST stickers vertically on the left side of the windshield.  Just another interesting detail on a work of art itself.

Another cool thing I noticed on the M is what lays atop of the side fender vents.  I always thought it was just a chrome piece that glides over the vent which, upon closer inspection, is actually your side marker.

The back of the car is equally amazing as the front.  With a Vorsteiner carbon fiber trunk, rear diffuser, and a more vibrant Gitani exhaust, you can just stare at it for days.  Honestly, within five minutes I had spending time snapping away at this car, the majority of the time was just spent gazing at it with saliva dripping out of my jaw dropped mouth.  I still couldn’t believe I had this opportunity.

Even the interior was extravagant.  From the red and blue ‘M’ color stitches in the steering wheel to the leather and carbon fiber trim to the gauge cluster, it was pretty much just a compilation of many works of art.  This is where fashion meets function.  From hearing the initial v8 prowl after tapping the Start/Stop button, to knocking the shift knob a few taps to the right into drive/sport mode (which is on the 7 speed DCT gearbox option) to hearing it just sit in the lot idling.  The owner (who wishes to remain anonymous) said that his exhaust is the softer of the selection, which was still louder than any car I’ve ridden in, with the X-Pipe design being the loudest and able to set car alarms off just from sitting in idle.

Just imagine this creeping up in your mirror on the freeway.  It’s all business at that point, waiting for an open lane to drop a gear or two bringing up the rpm to its 8500 red line.  I can’t even describe to you how it feels.  Its simply stunning, and unimaginable until you’ve experience it yourself.  Lucky for this one person, he has it on tap whenever need be.

Its just that mix of an initial art form in conjunction with the unique combination of after market parts that definitely sets this car apart.  Well, in addition to the fact that you don’t see the latest generation of the ultimate driving machine everyday as well.  It truly is a work of art which is able to back up its looks whenever need be.

Heres another shot of the rear with a glimpse of the small unpainted portion of carbon fiber sticking out of the boot lid.  Notice how his emblem is painted that of the German flag’s colors.  This car is just best epitome of attention to detail. I wonder how his car will sound after he gets his full exhaust system in?

From its hood emblem with carbon fiber accents to its color matched carbon fiber hood…

… to the matte black accents below the headlights to match the carbon fiber front splitter which flows oh so nicely with the body of the car.  Its the mixture of being extreme but not too excessive that makes this car what it is.  Its different, but its the same.

How about BMW’s Efficient Dynamics stating ‘Less Emission, More Driving Pleasure’?  Got that too, HAHA, although I have no clue how driving a sport tunned v8 pushing more than 420bhp can be eco friendly, its fun… What kind of car nut cares!  Although he gets a lot of crap from friends about still having that sticker on his car, it makes for a nice ‘touch’.

Not to mention his all around ceramic tint and chrome stickers repping STATUS Garage.

And another.  He used to have a line up of stickers running the height of his rear window, but replaced it with two nice and subtle ones… From afar, they look at home with the way the rear looks.  The carbon fiber roof option also looks gorgeous.  Why would you want a moon roof (Which was the other option) when you can just have one made out of carbon fiber?!

This was one of the shots I liked. :D

And another which I liked.  Shot in F/4.5 at ISO 250 at 1/60s, I didn’t think I could get the back to blur that much.  I also moved the temp slider a little more to the yellow side changing it from an alpine white to a more creamy white.  Having it more on the blue side just had a tad too much blue, and this is the setting where I rid the least amount of blue from the picture.

One last front shot.  All the small carbon fiber accents from the hood to the front splitter to the roof looks nice.  It’s not too much, but not too little either.  The overall car looks much better with the color matched carbon fiber hood.  Retaining a more classy look while retaining the sports car look.

And this concludes my take on the Vorsteiner E92 M3. A sporty yet subtle coupe done right.  Loud, but not excessive looks and sound wise.  I hope you enjoyed it while it lasted, but hopefully, there will be more from where this came from.

As always, let me know if you want any background sized pictures!
