Garage JS4KIX Part 1: The Shop
Today we feature part 1 of 2 on Garage JS4KIX, an auto shop out of Kalihi that does custom paint, fabrications, and engine work.
When I left my house to go shoot this place, I thought it was gonna be a short shoot, but little did I know, I was in for a treat!
I got there a little after 1:30pm and Gary, the shop owner, was still cleaning up the place. He was pretty excited that we were coming down; his crew hardly works on Sundays but he got his crew working, making his shop looking good for a SpeedHawaii.com feature. Maybe it’s just that I haven’t been to many custom auto shops, but this shop was raw to say the least! There was art everywhere!
Gary and Mike (DJ Wish) are the main paint artists at Garage JS4KIX. When I mean artists, I mean ARTISTS. You want your face on your hood, they can probably hook that up with even a back drop of a beach just to make things interesting. As I walked around the shop a bit more, there were was more art and a 2 sweet 240’s sitting in a back room.
Not only was this just an auto shop, DJ Wish had a music studio setup there! He invited me into a small room where he had some DJ and beat making equipment. DJ Wish is a professional DJ and is well known throughout the mainland opening for many famous artists. They also throw parties at the shop and the equipment there does serve the purpose of throwing an mean party. A lot of the graffiti on the shop is also done by DJ Wish.
The last part of the shop I headed off to was the show room located on the second floor of the shop. They recently had this done and took them about 3 weeks to finish. Here they sell items such as the regular car accessories, shirts and Montana Spray Paints. Garage JS4KIX is an authorized distributor for Montana Spray Paints so all you graffiti artists, you now know where to go to pick some up! They are planning to place a couple of couches and a TV to make this a lounge area for customers.
My impression of the JS4KIX crew was just awesome. Hit them up on the forums to get some work done on your rides or if you just want to hang out!

Part 2 will be the interview with Gary and DJ Wish. Stay tuned!

[...] Mark’s Lexus IS Filed Under: Photos by eseer — Leave a comment March 14, 2010 What kind of IS? I don’t know. All I know is it’s an IS. I didn’t bother to ask him whether it was a 250 or a 350 because it never struck me that it matter. What did matter was that it looked so clean sitting on bags. I first saw this car at our meeting with Fatlace on Friday, the day before the show. When I rolled into the lot, I saw this and another blue IS, both repping JS4KIX Hawaii (SH Feature). [...]
Very nice feature!
